The Dithering Travel Diary
Church of Our Savior on the Spilled Blood - is a Moscow-styled church with a richly colored onion domes. It was built on the spot where Tsar Nicholas Alexander II was murdered in 1881. It is also known as the mosaic church because the interior is covered with magnificent mosaics, each wall with a particular biblical theme. After driving by it in the morning, we then took a 1/2 hour walk from our hotel in order to take some photos (although our guide said it would only take 10 minutes). We got in 13,000+ steps today even though we rode on a bus touring for 4 hours.
