Day 6

Coober Pedy

Ahh caravan life.... you finally get a chance to get a sleep in and of course everyone around you is awake at sparrows packing up to get moving!

We finally got moving at 8.30. Today was spent exploring all and everything that Coober Pedy has to offer.....and everything was underground!

We explored numerous churches, went to Fayes underground house, drove the historic trail and discovered the ‘old’ Coober Pedy.

This afternoon we channeled our Outback Opal Hunters in the field digging for our fortune! Cayden’s claim was the most productive with a couple of his stones showing some decent colour. We all found some potch and caked ourselves in Coober ‘talc’ and had a lot of fun doing so.

Tonight we cooked hamburgers and watched the sunset at Ribas and then joined the underground mine tour. We finished the evening with a few drinks planning our next hop tomorrow.

It’s an early start tomorrow as we want to attempt to make Curtin Springs Station tomorrow night.

Didn’t drive today! Was Uber’d about town!
