Just left Vientiane. It was the boat festival so the most exciting time of the year for the people there apparently. Was great fun. Met some really nice people who i am with at the moment and might stay with while travelling Lao. For the capital city, it was basic to say the least. There weren't that many tourists either. Nighlife was good and Lao food is really nice. The people here are the nicest i have met so far.

Well - im just off Bangkok now doing my 3 day trip. So far i have seen the snake show - I wasnt sure about that one, riden an elephant, cuddled a tiger or 2, been on the death railway, done canoeing, been down the floating market and the seven waterfall!

Going it alone: I left Emma in Langkawi yesterday morning, flew to KL then to Bangkok. I met up with 2 friends from back home (Steve & Andy), dropped off my stuff in a motel just off the Th ko San road and explored the Ko San. Extremely busy and very daunting. Met some really nice people and had a good night. Did plenty of shopping today which the guys have taken home for me. Im on my own now and so have booked to do a trip early morning for 3 days to ride ...

Here we are in Langkawi, another island just off Malaysia near the boarder of thailand. We have had a couple of rain showers now but nothing drastic. Staying in a beautiful area and our 'shack' is on the beach itself. Getting used to cold showers now and bugs although sleeping in the heat is still a problem. People here are friendly and the beer is extremely cheap (not something i would normally like but im learning). We've moved now to somewhere with aircon...

George Town Penang. We took a bus for 7 hours and the ferry over to Penang. We havent seen much of George town and deciding what to do next. Lots of backpackers where we are just relaxing and drinking. Havent stayed long but long enough to slip into the drain on the roadside causing my leg to go black and swell up - attractive...........
