The drive from Vientiane to Vang Vien was about 4 hours long and very bumpy to say the least. The roads were deserted and you could imagion an ambush! Saw some disturbing things that are obviously normal to the locals but will take a while for me to adjust to. Vang Vien is a lot less populated and seems very chilled out. The people here are genuinly friendly and there is so much to do. Went Tubing today up the Mekong river, stopping to meet other travellers and doing huge jumps into the water. The scenary is outstanding and Lao is the best place of my travels so far. In the evening everyone gets together to meet and have drinks. I hope to stay a while. I have also been caving and rafting which was fantastic. I'll soon go to Luang Prabang for white water rafting, camping and definatly some more tubing!
