ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

But before i get on to that i will fill you in on the last week.

From Bangkok we got the overnight bus down to Phuket which is the South of Thailand - the bus journey was a nightmare and took soooo much longer than advertised, but i was asleep for the majority of it so i didnt mind too much. We has booked ourselves into a hostel called Phuket Backpacker which is a series of 4 bed dorms, so 2 bunk beds in each room, the first night Polly and i were sharing with 2 girls that i didnt really talk to as they arrived quite late, the second night we had the room to ourselves and the third night there we were sharing with 2 guys. The hostel was amazing! it was clean, modern and had a large living room area with computers, a massive TV, DVD player and a huge selection of DVD's - this was a really good area to chillout in and we met lots of really cool people there.

On the 13th it was Thai New Year, they celebrate this in the most fantastic way you could ever imagine....its just a HUGE water fight, all day and all night long - its so hard to really explain what it was like but Gemma, Aleshia and I (girls i had met in the hostel) had caught the bus to Karon Beach - the bus had winsows which where opened and within 5 mins we were all soaked because people stand on the side of the street with water guns, hoses, buckets of water etc...and just throw them at any on coming vehicle, pedestrian...you name it! When we got to the beach we didnt actually go on to the beach because it was far more fun just walking around the town - there were hundreds of people, locals and tourist just having a full blown water fight, people drove along in the back of pick up trucks soaking passing cars and those on the streets- it was just insane! The Thai's also liked to put talcom powder and an orage paste on your face while chanting Happy New Year! It was by far the craziest but most amazing day of my life! we stayed there for about 6 hours just drenched through all day long! When we got back to the hostel, everyone else was getting really to go out to the party center of Phuket - Patong, where it was bound to be the same sort of scene but with a lot more alcohol involved - I had just got dry and wasnt too keen on the idea of getting wet again but finally caved and went anyway! which was also good fun, Chaotic but good fun! there were about 16 of us from the hostel, mostly with our water guns (i gave mine to someone else and i wasnt in a shooting mood) and it was just a free for all! Come 11pm, Gemma and I had had enough of being soaked through so we got a Tuk Tuk back, bought some wine and crisps and sat on the sofa to watch pretty woman! I went to bed at about 2 that night and was disturbed many times by people coming in drunk and stomping around - but that didnt bother me...what did however was when i felt a body get in to bed with me and cuddle up really close 'spooning' me as i like to call it and then put their arm around me, first i just presumed it was polly as she had jumped into my bed the night before and given me a hug, so i turned around to face her only to see that it was the guy who was supposed to be sleeping in the top bunk - "Hello?" i said, "Oh, there are two of you?" he exclaimed...what that meant i have no idea so i just said calmly "your in the wrong bed", "oh" he said, "i live upstairs dont i?" "YES!!!!' i said! and then he just got out of my bed and climbed up into the top bunk! it was so funny but really strange! i knew that i was safe though as the walls are all really thin, Gemma and Aleshia where sleeping in the room next to me so i could have just shouted if there has been any trouble! Bloody drunken boys!

Now we are in Ko Phi Phi, and it is beautiful here, Yesterday we went on a tour of some of the Islands and i did some snorkeling! my first ever time! it was a little bit scary at first but i got the hang of it and the sights where incredible! One of the beaches that we visited was Maya Beach which is where 'The Beach' was partly filmed! it was breath taking!

When we got back from our tour we had arranged to meet two of the girls from Phuket in a bar called Hippies - and we had such a good night! it started off with the most gorgeous guy with a beautiful voice, singing and playing the guitar. Then there was a fire show which was amazing (gorgeous guy also took part in this AND he was the DJ, so an all round amazing person) and then after that all of the people who had been playing with the fire stood on the stage and gorgeous guy (who i think was called Amir - but i could be wrong!) called me on to the stage and got the whole bar to sing me happy birthday! (it was only 11.20 by this point so it wasnt actually my birthday but i was so in love with Amir that i wasnt going to point this out) I even got to blow out a candle that they had fashioned out of an empty bottle and some flamable material! After that the evening was just great! i had Happy Birthday sang to me in German, Thai and Spanish, I got a free bucket of vodka and redbull, we had a little paddle in the sea and just had an amazing time! that for me was my birthday, and even though i should technically be celebrating tonight, nothing can beat last night!
