So much has happened over the last week or so, so i will fill you in on the basics.
After Kanchanaburi we went back to Bangkok for the night before getting a bus to Auyttaya for the day where we saw lots more temples and stuff like that and were abandoned at the train station about 4 hours before our train so we met up with Step, Nat and Audre and went for a drink with them to pass the time - They are really nice girls, Step and Nat are from Qubec and Nat is from France - They were traveling up to Chiang Mai too but on a later train.
We got on the sleeper train at about 7.30pm and it was so comfortable! proper fold down beds and everything so we slept all night and arrived in Chiang Mai at about 7am the next day, we went to our hotel and had breakfast.
That night we met up with Kenny and Katie from Canada and all went out for dinner then to a Muay Thai boxing match which was incredible - they really do beat the crap out of each other and the fighting started with kids that were only about 12 i think, it was barbaric yet strangely enjoyable! the last fight we saw was between a Thai bloke and an Austrailian and that was pretty cool, i got really in to that! but it must have been fixed cos the Thai man won!
The next day we set off for our 3 day trek in to the forest/jungle which was unbelievable! we did Elephant trekking which i loved! They are such beautiful, amazing animals and i am so glad that i have finally seen some! they walk up and down some really steep hills which is sketchy! you can feed them bananas while you are riding and its so sweet, the reach their trunk round sniffing out the banana's until you give them one, there was a little baby one following us that reached up to get a banana but we had run out so he started sniffing my foot and tried to suck my toes! bless him! We also did bamboo rafting which was good fun, 4 people on a raft with rowers at the front and back! The actual trekking was pretty hard, we were doing between 2-4 hours each day, going up and down some really steep hills, on the second day i really struggled, got a bit panicy and couldnt breathe properly, but it was ok once i had calmed down!
For the two nights we were out there we stayed in the forest in the most amazing huts, all made off wood high up in the mountains with the most amazing views, it really was an incredible experience but unfortunately Benson has broken his camera and i forgot to charge mine so i didnt get any photos, i will have to swipe some photos from the others. The evenings were fun, sitting around a camp fire with a guitar, games, booze! and lots of fun!
