We arrived in surfers on Wednesday, and after some heavy drinking nights in Byron we were looking forward to a relaxing couple of days. We were very excited before we arrived as we booked a room with a private bathroom, however when we turned up it seemed it wasn't private at all, infact we were sharing with four others! Not people - cockroaches. Yuk - we named them all Carl - Daddy Carl was HUGE!! He liked to sneak up on you in the shower. Any way, apart from our new friends the room was quite nice. We went for a wander around Surfers and were suprised at how high rise the place was. Had some really cool builindings, Q1 (the observation station) was very impressive.
The 2nd day we went to Ripleys Believe it or not Museum. Was pretty funny. Got to see a wax work of the tallest man in the world, and one of the man with the longest nose. That night we had a cozy night in with a bottle of wine.
The next day we went up the Observation Station. Had some great views, the whole place is split up into little islands that are attached to the mainland by bridges. The night was Good Friday - lots of TV programmes on that day about how the fish markets were all packed out because you are not supposed to eat meat. After watching these informative programmes we decided to treat ourselves and go out for tea. So being Good Friday and all we decided to have.... Steak mwuhahahaha. We found it funny anyway! After our steak we went home for an early night only to find the people next door were having a party. Instead of joining in the merriment we chose to sit in our room and complain about the youth of today and the noise they make. After security came down and stopped the party and huge sigh of releif came from our room and we went to sleep - like a proper old couple.
