Stayed at HOME TRAVELLERS motel.
Melbourne is windy!!!!
Originally booked into a 10 bed dorm (cheapest) but they were out of space & moved us to an 8 bed dorm for the same price. This room had its own TV & bathroom. Luxury!!
Hostel was nice. Friendly staff & roomies. Met Susan from Canada "tattoo lady" & Ross from Essex (chatty Southend lad - Not!).
Went for a few runs along the beach front, did a trip to the Old Melbourne Gaol where Ned Kelly was hung. Got locked up in a cell with others in the group for a few minutes for a taster. Lovely!!
Did a 'Draculas' night - cabaret restaurant. went with Susan & was a really funny evening.
Went on the 'Neighbours' day tour to Ramsay St (really small by the way), Erinsborough high school & the studio grounds. Met an old cast member - Dr.Darcy. He was Karl Kennedy's side kick back in the day. Also did the 'Neighbours' night at Elephant & Wheelbarrow pub. Really good night. Played games, did quizes, met some of the cast but as i haven't watched since i left school had no idea who they were! Some Irish guy who played Connor, a woman who played Stingrays mum, Malcolm Kennedy & another. There was a D.I.S.C.O. after too!!!!
Took the tram into the city most days. Went to the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria) where there was a exhibition on the history of computer games. we played Sega, Nintendo, Amstrad, Wii, Xbox, Space invaders to Wii Olympics.
Got no sleep the last night as a guy on our room snored all night & his alarm went off every 30 mins & he made no attempt to turn it off, another guy shouted in his sleep & it was really windy!!!
Didn't click with Melbourne.
