Stayed at Caravella City backpackers.

We left Melbourne late on the 1st to arrive in Cairns early hours of 2nd. We had instructions from reception to what room we were in. Originally we we'd booked for a 14 bed dorm but our luck was still running & we got upgraded (for the same price as the dorm) to a twin room. A couple (Gwen & Courtney) were left no keys as there was a mix up with their bokoing so we offered them a bed for the night. Got to sleep around 3ish!

Weather the next day was clear blue sky and in the late 20's.

Matt & Neil from China were passing through in the campervan so we had the pleasure of their daft company for a few days!!

Went out into town & Dr.Karl Kennedy (Neighbours) was playing with his band so we watched him & got a few pics. He was really good but forgot the words to Angels!! Tut Tut.

Did a "Party Bus" experience around town. Had a free BBQ, drinks vouchers, games & photos. Great night.

Spent days sun bathing along the public lagoon.

Met Gina from China too & went out a few nights with her. Got a bus into Kuranda. Small town but full of market stalls. Has a butterfly sanctuary, Koala park & sky rail.

Emma went white water rafting & loved it but said it was hard work.

The local bars are the Woolshed, P.J.O'Briens, Courthouse, Mad Cows, Gilligans, Rhino Bar, The Lounge & Casada.

Emma brought her didgeridoo.

Met Neil again on our last night & had pizza by the lagoon.

Got the Greyhound bus at 7 the next morning.

Cairns is great.
