Flew back to Auckland & Stayed in Albert Park backpackers (again!) to see the England vs All Blacks game in Eden Park. Good game but lost. Rained on & off. On the bus back to town with a bunch of Brazilians! Had a 6ft England flag with "Mini COB NZ 08' written on it. The Haka is still creepy!!!

This was a day trip with French connection. Saw the Little River Old Railway station, Hilltop Tavern, Bank Peninsula, Cooptown, Wairewa vally, Barrys Bay. Lovely little town. Stopped on the way home at Barry's Bay Cheese factory (that's right!!). Sampled some of the local produce & brought a slab of Massadam. YUM!!

Stayed in City Oasis backpackers with the girls (until they left). Visited the botanical gardens, cinema to see 'Sex & the city' with German girl called Julia (FB), did a day trip to Akaroa (see sep blog), flew to Auckland to see England vs All Blacks & returned the next day, worked a few mornings to get free accomodation, went running along the river Avon, watched Ireland game in local cafe where it snowed!! Stayed with the gang at Lakefront Lodge. Visited the worlds steepest street - Baldwin street. Never arrived until late so didn't see much again!! Stopped for photos of Church of the good shepherd and the collie dog, southern alps & Moeraki boulders on the beach. Settled in & had a walk to the ice skating rink & hot spring spa. Another quiet night & early pickup.

Stayed with the girls at Elm Lodge in a 4 bed. Never got there until late as someone on the needed an ambulance and we had to wait a few hours before it arrived. Never did find out what was wrong with him... Didn't see much apart from the Cadbury's factory (from the outside as it was closed on Saturday's!!), churches, train station. Walked around the town and had a girlie night watching a film - Northern Country. Early night, early pickup.
