Arrived at 3 after a 5hr bus journey. Stayed at Koala's. The kitchen has no utensils & is a tip. You have to pay deposits to use plates, cutlery, pans etc. Never known anywhere like it. The room was a 6 bed mixed dorm & stunk of cheesy feet but we had our own bathroom. The place is basically outdoors but has a pool. Wouldn't stay again. Stayed at 'Absolute backpackers'. Had a pool and lovely grounds. Town by Wongaling beach is a little quiet . Took a walk to the nearest beach & checked out the area. Emma left her jacket in the previous room but i remembered. Stayed at Caravella City backpackers. We left Melbourne late on the 1st to arrive in Cairns early hours of 2nd. We had instructions from reception to what room we were in.
