We stayed one night in the capital of NZ, Wellington. I had my first glass of red wine for nearly 2 months and was in heaven. Other than that we cooked food in the Downtown hostel and had a pretty early night.
The next morning we got the early morning ferry from Wellington to picton, the South Island. Dads brother Victor who I have only met when I was a bubba works on the Interferry. I decided to do a bit of Oprah Winfrey reuniting to see if I could find him on the boat! Luckily having the unusual surname Tamburrino worked in my favour. He wasn't working that day so I wrote a little note with my contact info and left it at reception. I got a call from him the next day which was good and we will be meeting him on the return ferry. Have seen photos of him as a young chap but got a feeling he may look a little different now 20+ years on. Once my touch of Oprah was complete the ferry started and it was very similar to the Irish Sea. Waves smashing against the boat windows and The majority of the boat (including the 3 of us) lying on any spot of the floor/chair available being supplied with sick bags. A tad annoying considering most of the trip I have been saying that maybe my new career should be working on a Cruise Ship. Dam it, thats my new career already out the window!
