So I arrived in Riobamba my next destination. I was exited to hear that they actually had a carnival going on untill the 21st in Equador thought that sounded really nice !! Well not quite so exiting.... The only thing they do for four days is walking og driving around the streets armed with buckets of water, water baloons, colour powder and foam spraycans - naively I thought they would spare tourists - but boy did I get wiser !! I had walked two metres from my hostel before I had a bucket of water thrown at me a few meters more an I was covered in foam !!! This continued on and on ....

Luckily the next day I was going to Alusi to take the train to the devils nose ( Simbambe ) a lovely trainride in an oldfashioned train through the mountains. I was the only english speaking and blonde person on the tour and a little girl was so interrested that she turned around and stared at me the entire trainride. Unfortunately my spanish skills only enabled me to speak a few words with her ...
