Day 13, 31st January
Today we decided to chill not really taking in much of the sites but we wondered around the city trying to find an australian resturant called bread and butter for tea who apparently sever fish & chips and roast dinners.... as usual we seemed to get rather lost an walked in the wrong direction for about 2 hours!!! ( the resturant should have only been 10 mins away from our hotel) Finally got on the right road but it seems the resturant in question had closed down since the lonely planet guide last went to print!
We fianally ended up eating in a place we had walked passed 3 times lol Having chicken cordon blue or rather the vietmanese version it was sooo nice after such a trekk!
Day 14, 1st February
Didn't do much today as leaving Ho Chi Minh for Phnom Penh in Cambodia only 6 hours by coach think we may get fed up of coaches when we get home. Had to stop at the Vietnam and Cambodian borders to get exit stamp and buy our visa's the guy on the coach was trying to get us to give him an extra $5 so that he would sort out the visa on our behalf and make it quicker but as we only had $20 on us anyway we just did it ourselves and it didn't take any longer than anyone else's (blagger).
When we got to Phnom Penh we had to find ourselves a hotel and as usual the coach doesn't drop you off in the centre (probably so there tuk tuk drivers get business lol) we were stood on a dirt track next to a petrol station with no money quite handy after all as the guy told us the station had an ATM the people were really friendly givng us change of the large notes so we had dollar bills cant really pay tuk tuk drivers with $50 bills!
The driver dropped us off along the river where all the hotels and resturants are we wondered as usual in and out of a few checking prices etc they were either full or far too expensive! We stopped and asked a few other travellers ( a couple called Talullah and for some reason cannot remember what her boyfriend was called...but then you cant forget the name Talullah can you!!) if they had hotels booked and turned out they didn't either so we joined forces and looked together.
We booked into the Amari hotel after some negotiation on price and went out for something to eat with Talullah and her chap to an Irish resturant food was really nice and the had proper cosmopolitans just what we needed after a day of travelling!
