woke up got ready and headed down to the restaurant near for our free breakfast, we got a cappacino and a chocolate croissant which was AMAZING! We then made our way to the bus to go to the Vatican! As it was Sunday the pope... THE POPE was appearing from his window to give a blessing/mass to the people. We made our way through security and found the perfect spot in front of his window! I could not believe this was happening. I phoned my gran to tell her where I was and it was all emotional as she sounded upset with happiness it made me cry! The crowd cheered and went into silence as he gave his mass and at the end even gave a shoutout to groups of people who had came... The pope gave a shoutout! It was so unbelievably hot that I was shaking I don't know if it was the heat or the shock that I had just seen the pope! After the ceremony we made our way to a restaurant to get some food, we got aperol spritz cocktails and 2 pizzas and pasta to share it was delicious! Later we made our way back to the bus to go check out the colloseum, it took a while but we got there in the end and queued for a while. We were tempted to buy express tickets and tour guides however it would have been a rip off as you do not need any of that! After the colloseum we decided to go check out a 'keyhole' secret place we had been recommended by the apartment owner, we did a 25 minute walk where we got lost of course but found it in the end.. It was in credit a literal keyhole on a door where you look and can see the Vatican. The best of it is when you try to take a photo it's impossible due to the light so even more secretive the better. As Richard had to go home we walked back to the hotel to get his stuff and head to the train station it was an absolute killer walk!! We were all struggling, emotional goodbye to Richard and we made our way back on the bus to get home, we wanted to stay out however what we didn't realise was how dodgey our area was and especially at night with just me and Susan so we decided to just grab some snacks and head back to the apartment! I needed to buy a new suitcase which I did however a guy decided to go by and hit my bum which made us more glad that we were going home. We got back to our room and chilled with our Bacardi breeders and had a proper catch up, we listened to good old country music and reminisced looking at trek America photos and videos not being able to stop laughing. We got a good night sleep for tomorrow's travel day! And no sleep terrors happened tonight!
