We left El Portal with mixed feelings this morning, sad to be coming to our last destination, but excited to see San Francisco. This morning we had a lie in. Yippee! We have been super tired for days and finally had the chance for no alarms so woke up after 9.00! What a luxury! We had decided that we were going to explore Monterey before heading into Yosemite, and initially we wanted to go to the aquarium. We eventually decided against it as it was $40 entry each and we figured we would need the whole day, so again we put this on our list to come back to! Today we are at Yosemite National Park - our last stop before San Francisco. We added this trip 350 mile round trip onto our route right at at end, meaning we had to squeeze some of our other stays and travel a but further some days. The result has been several long driving days of cursing Yosemite when we could have stopped off a couple of hours earlier. So, no pressure for Yosemite to be worth it and luckily it is - hurrah!
