After a lengthy discussion we decided to hire a car to go round the sites of Sandakan today. So we hunted down a bus to take us to the airport, as this is the only place where cars are hired from. So, nearly an hour later following our really slow, stuffy and smelly 11km bus ride we eventually got to the airport and found the car rental place...shut.

A tiny little bit annoyed we walked the 500metres back up to the main road where we could hopefully flag a passing bus down, which turned out to be the exact same bus that dropped us off 20 minutes ago! How the driver laughed.

With nothing to do in the centre of the town we had a DVD marathon back in the hotel for the rest of the afternoon. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better as we are starting to get bored with doing nothing during the day!
