Claire & Dave's Big Adventure
Mumbai or Bombay to some. Our very last stop in India.
We only used it as overnight stop for our flight so didn't explore too much.
We were pretty much next door to the infamous Taj Hotel which was victim to the terrorist attack in 2008. The only thing we saw was The Gateway of India which literally is just a big gate. The rest of the city that we saw was just another Indian city.
So how do we sum up the last six weeks in India? It's been very up and down.
For David, he really enjoyed all of Kerala and thinks that Hampi is one the most amazing places he has ever seen. He has no desire to return to the North of India, specifically Varanasi. And he can appreciate that Goa was the wrong season. Definitely more good than bad!
For Claire, from arriving in the middle of the night into desolated, Calcutta and working her way through the busy and bustling North, to the relaxed, calm and serene South it has been an amazing experience. It is definitely a place where the shock of a difference in culture and lifestyle is something that she will never forget and definitely makes her appreciate what she has at home. She has loved it all (well, apart from New Delhi).
It's difficult not to compare India with other superpower China due to its size and population similarities and it would seem that David is Team China and Claire is Team India. So to anyone that has a takeaway with us when we get back, it might be best to order a pizza.
