For some reason Katie declined my offer of an early dawn start to get more photos of The Grand Canyon so I was by my lonesome this morning. Still, I did get a coffee to keep me company and managed to get a few more shots.
We left the Canyon after breakfast and continued to head south out of the National Park and then east down the interstate towards Albuquerque. The drive was supposed to only take about 4-5 hours but with the traffic ended up taking us just over 6. It is amazing how many trucks use the interstates. I mean, I know that they should but just the sheer number of them was amazing. Most of the drive was tolerable as we listened to ‘The Belgariad’ and to Sue who gave us a running commentary about the places that we were driving through.
We pulled into our hotel just as it was getting dark and had to hike it down almost never-ending corridors to arrive at our room. Diner was excellent with a HEAVY emphasis on green chilli, although our waiter understood the concept of an affogato which was a fine end to the day.
