Cindy Aserkoff's Travels
Started the day with a walk into the part of the city where they are restoring the old architecture and incorporating modern architecture. The result is quite stunning and architecture awards have been given. We then took the tram to Kadriorg Park. This is a beautiful park with clever modern sculptures liking floating boulders. We then walked to palace residence that Peter the Great built for his empress Catherine I. We then toured Kumu, a modern art museum featuring leading names in Estonian art from the 18th venture through modern day. Soviet era art is also displayed here. After lunch we toured the old town from another direction. This is an interesting city and interesting people as well. Tomorrow is travel day to St. Petersburg. It will be interesting to visit Russia after visiting the three Baltic countries and learn about the suffering through the soviet occupation.
