We have heat & sunshine!! After the wind, rain & hail storms of South Australia it's lovely to arrive in tropical Cairns. The next six days are mostly downtime and chilling out after the madness of the past three weeks. Port Campbell is lovely, our apartment very nice with its own pool deck!

After a 550 kilometre drive we arrived for a one night pit stop in Adelaide. A long scenic journey to get here with very straight roads! We entertained ourselves by waving to drivers in oncoming cars (I know!!), worked though! We had a wander around the city, a dip in the pool. We had dinner with Gina & her family in Hove, they have the perfect beach front spot - definite pool envy. We are back at the hotel after a lovely evening, up early for a 7am flig...

Another big driving day today to get us well on our way to Mount Gambier our last stop over before Adelaide. We set off early stopping off at a couple of rock formations beyond the twelve apostles. We saw The Arch which may not be here too much longer (so sad!) and London Bridge (the other one). It was blowing a gale, and tipping with rain and hail (in Australia!) but I held on tight to get a couple of great shots - getting absolutely soaked in the process. F...

The next couple of days are all about the mammoth trip from Melbourne to Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road. We left Melbourne early on Sunday for our 300k road trip to an overnight stay in Port Campbell. The Ocean road is stunningly beautiful, long winding roads with the waves crashing on the rocks for much of the journey. We bid a fond farewell to New Zealand heading off in the next stage of our trip. Melbourne for a couple of days before driving along the Great Ocean Road - very excited! We go solo from today, it's been lovely to have the time with George's family in Australia and with Richard and Sophie in New Zealand - very special.
