I am heading for Lucerne in Switzerland today and Snow is forecast. I did see some snow on the Atlas Mountains (really far off) and then last week there was snow all around on the Dolomites, but we were on the freeway and couldn't stop. And in any case it wasn't actually snowing. But the next couple of days should take care of the "snow" item on my bucket list. Let's see, eh?

Yesterday I saw David. I could not take his photo, but that really didn't matter because I am never going to forget him. The sculpture is so beautiful it defies adequate description. Over the years I have seen photos, documentaries, and all manner of material about him. But nothing prepared me for this experience. You will simply have to see it for yourself.

On the second day of our visit to Venice, we went by charter launch to the outer island of Burano. The island is the home of the lacemakers and it is said that in 1481 Leonardo da Vinci visited the island bought lace that he took back to make the altar cloth for the Duomo in Florence. What can I say about Venice! It is a magical place. I rode down the canals in a Gondola. I ate the most exquisite gelato called Crema del Doge. I sat at a Cafe and drank red wine while a violinist played accompanied by a piano. I love Venice!
