Hey all,
After dragging ourselves from the gilis (which was really, really hard) we made our way to Bali, via speed boat and plane. There was a frantic rush together to the front of the queue and wade ourselves on to the boat as we wanted a topdeck seat.unwise.as we didn't take into account that we'd be in such heat for 3hrs. Laura got a bit sunburned and I turned a bit grey.
The views were great but I'd think twice about doing that again.
Out of the three possible areas (Legian,Kuta and Seminyak) we settled on Legian.
We arrived at our hotel which was a quaint place with Balinese decor, dumped our rucksacks and made our way into town.
You would think the blistering would be the worst of our problems.wrong.we were literally having to dodge scooters and cars fearing for our lives (there are no lanes, rules, very few signs and the lights are random to say the least!!) and then there are the hawkers trying to sell us everything that catered to the hoards of Australian tourists, they say 'Buy',we say 'no' then they say 'yes'.
After having good look around the area, wandering into Kuta observing the many stalls and shops Laura went to have a much deserved 3hr spa treatment and I wandered around, walking around the 3 areas (admittedly, for the 1st hour I got lost-all the streets look the same!) finishing up at kuta beach which is pretty amazing and one of the largest beaches I've seen.
We finished off the day by going for some authentic Balinese food which was in a garden, playing TV Kareoke and littered with cats which made...Laura very happy.
