For Christmas me and Steve are staying in a really nice hotel as a present from my lovely parents. We were originally staying at the Nova Gold Hotel however when we arrived they told us it was full and we had been upgraded to the Amari Nova Suites just around the corner. Well the hotel was beyond amazing. We had a suite, so a kitchen, lounge, bedroom, balcony, dressing area and bathroom. The 40" tv was a nice touch and the rooftop pool just added to making it pretty superb.

Pattaya as a place however is rather weird; it's very Thailand with the excessive amounts of old men walking around with young Thai girls, the beach is packed, but where we are staying is actually pretty quite. For Christmas we decide to cook dinner in our suite and eat it up on the rooftop, by the pool, at sunset. Very nice indeed! Something totally different from a usual English Christmas, it doesn't really feel like Christmas at all out here but it is nice to do something. Just being with a friend and having nice food can make all the difference.

Boxing day was spent relaxing and planning our journeys for new years, at the moment the idea is to head up to Laos and meet Sarah. But we will see what happens, its very hard to make plans while travelling, as things just change all the time. In the evening me and Steve go bowling and play snooker, not very Thai, but lots of fun!
