Long day on excursion in Southern iceland with many different landscapes including glaciers, flat scenic plains, great historic museum explains past life's of earlier settlers and their harsh lifestyle dependent on drift wood for housing. Impressive museum with artefacts and buildings of the last centuries. Life only changed after Second World War for many in the area .

Blue Lagoon, Iceland

Started visit to Iceland after brief 3 hour trip from Amsterdam. Blue lagoon relatively expensive with transport and good but over crowded initially and as with all public hot pools perhaps over rated . Still great setting and volcanic landscape very moon like and a little eerie.

Today walked and bused into massluis and range of discussions. Great towns and iconic images abound... Waterways, windmills and bikes. Evening great dinner at New York restaurant in Rotterdam and views to great new buildings being finished on the harbour areas... Outstanding architecture and cultural complexity. Last day in Europe and over to Iceland tomorrow on way to halifax.

Good day out in the wilds of Amsterdam and drove in and parked and then tram into city. Went and visited several Museums and exhibitions all great and fascinating. Went to eds markies mobile home for meal and then drove back to house.!
