Security at the Vancouver Airport when going into the US sure is fun J.After waiting in line forever for the one (one!) border security lady to check us through (was she ever pleasant!), Chris was "randomly" selected for additional screening by Canadian security at the X-Ray machines.Lucky him - he got the pat down, search all the bags, check everything out ordeal, although at least this guy was nice about it.
After hanging around YVR for a bit, we caught our flight down to Portland.During the flight Chris enjoyed his final Tim Hortons for a long time (enjoy the pics).(Chris: I can't believe it's gone.I miss it already and it's been less than a day.)Anyway, we arrived in Portland and met up with Lisa, loaded the car and made our way to "the zoo".Lisa's place is really nice - definitely out in the suburbs but a very neat little place and we agreed that we'd be lucky to find such a place in Melbourne.
After settling in, we headed downtown for a drink at a hotel bar, met up with Ben and then went to a great Indian place (East India Company) for dinner, which Chris really enjoyed.(Chris: I hardly get Indian anymore since Natasha is not a big fan, so I really should have known that my system wouldn't be prepared for vindaloo, but I went for it anyway.Oh it was hot.But so good. But so hot.)Anyway, it was a great meal, Lisa, Ben, Natasha, Chris and two of Lisa and Ben's friends. The four of us came back to the zoo and then played Rock Band well into the night.
