Hello everyone We're now in Cairns and enjoying the warm sunshine. It might be winter but we're wearing summer gear! Yesterday was amazing cruising to the Great Barrier Reef. Chris did his first scuba dive which he loved. Kate tried snorkeling for the first time which she found great once she had some 1 on 1 help from one of the crew - well they did the swimming while Kate was pulled behind! Got to see Nemo! And loads of great colourful fish and coral. Got to stroke some sea cucumbers - much slimier than the usual green salad variety! It was a long day having left Cairns at 7.30am and not returning til 4 which gave us loads of time in the water to snorkel and just to enjoy being out on the reef. What an amazing experience seeing all this sealife - we'd definitely recommend it to anyone!
On Wednesday we drove up into the rainforest visiting Kuranda. Kate got to cuddle a koala!! We then took a drive up the coast to the Daintree national park stopping off at various beautiful beaches - we didn't venture in the sea however due to the many crocodile warning signs! We saw such a variety of scenery along the way and ended up in the rainforest. Took a cruise down the Daintree River croc spotting. Saw quite a few saltwater crocs as well as snakes and many kinds of birds.
Off now to the beach - it's a hard life! Tomorrow we fly on to Bangkok via Sydney. Looking forward to our last 3 weeks in Thailand.
Thanks again for all your messages - it's great to hear from you.
Lots of love Chris and Kate xxxx
