Hello from rainy Australia! We've heard you guys have been having lots of rain - well we're joining you in Sydney! We see from the paper this morning they're having some of the worst weather in a very long time!! We're getting used to feeling slightly soggy most of the time. We arrived on Tuesday after surviving the long flight from South Africa. We enjoyed the rest of our time on the Garden Route in SA and had a nice last day in Cape Town - where it was beautifully sunny!!!!!!!!!!
Was great to be met by Richard Price at the airport in Sydney. We're staying in Manly in a backpacker hostel. Manly is surfers paradise, the waves are huge. Yesterday we met up with Richard and took the ferry across to Sydney harbour - it was an interesting experience! We stood outside to enjoy the best views and got soaked through as huge waves came over the ferry! At one point the ferry was tipping so far side to side we did start to wonder if we'd stay on board! Spent the day visiting some of the tourist attractions - wildlife world and the aquariam. Saw some of the most dangerous and venomous creatures on earth! Chris and Richard enjoyed the spiders - Kate made a sharp exit!! Kate enjoyed the snakes - Chris then made a sharp exit! The wallabies and koalas were great and understand there are more attacks on keepers from the koalas than sharks at the aquariam!
Today we're heading into Sydney again to explore some more. We hope to visit the Opera house, the botanical gardens (weather permitting!) and go up the Sydney tower. At the weekend we hope to visit one of the Hill Songs churches before heading off on our 3-day drive to Melbourne. Let's hope for nice weather on the coastal drive!
Sorry there are no more pics yet - we're working on it - we're having some technical difficulties. But we have lots of nice pics!!
Hope you're all well and thanks again for lots of nice messages with your news.
Lots of love Chris and Kate xx
