Hola
We crossed the border into Argentina about a week ago and its been none stop fun and frollocks ever since.
Firstly we have discovered that Chris has been harbouring a spy in the shape of a parasite called Bob. The little fella has been borrowing about quite happily in Chriss toe for about four months. I think his master plan was to hitch a lift back to England to start a new and better life. Unfortunatly he was discovered and is now dead.. Chris one parasite nil!
The rain cloud that seemed to follow us around in chile has finally been foxed by our border crossing and the weather has most definatly turn towards spring.
Bariloche (which is in Patagonia) is a beautiful town nestled between the edge of a massive lake and snow capped mountains and from our hostel on the 10th floor the veiw was pretty spectacuar! Not only did our hostel have an awsome veiw it was also full of brilliant people and massive amount of carbonara.
We kept pretty busy and even climbed a mountain. Wow i hear you all cry.. well hold your horses... this is made all the more impressive by the fact that we could have got a gondola to the top but decided to walk instead.. yes yes i know.. but thats what crazy kids like us are like! Plus the veiws and beers at the top were all the more satisfying for the burning sensation in your lungs!
Speaking of horses i think the best part of our stay in Bariloche (and for me i think the best experience in south america so far) was going horse riding across the hills and planes of Patagonia. It was a truely awsome sight... Wide flats, jutting mountains and massive blue lakes. Not only that but those horses are fast.. woohoo! We felt like proper adventures. Plus we had an awsome poncho wearing cowboy as a guide.
We also managed to get in an afternoon of snowboarding. I dont think i have been quite so wet or cold whilst on a mountain before. Slush and mud were the snow orders of the day but after a disheartening start to the day (most of the runs were closed) we finished cold, wet but with a warm satified feeling deep down inside that we had conquered the mountain. HA!
We have moved on from Bariloche to a small town called El Bolson (kinda like the cheese). With only one full day here i think we made the most of it with a stonking (yes that what i said stonking!) walk though the forest, checking out some massive warterfalls and impressive veiws from a ridge along the way. For our evenings entertainment chris and paddy produced a cheese and bacon pizza burger. I can here your awe and slight confusion from here! A cheese and bacon pizza burger is a very large burger (about the size of a pizza) stuffed with cheese and bacon placed between two pizza, the top one upsidedown and served in slices with salad on the side. A culinary master piece!!!
must be off... there is still some pizza burger in the fridge!
