we arrived in kl after a really cheap flight from phuket. we took the skytrain monorail thingy to our hotel which was in the central business district. The hotel was pretty nice considering it was surrounded by giant 5 star places like the mandarin oriental, and the crown plaza. (little did we know we would be living the high life ourselves pretty soon...). We took a trip up the Petronas towers, amazing views and you're only allowed half way! Still pretty high though. We spent the next few days window shopping and visiting chinatown markets. We both loved the city, it was really nice to be somewhere modern (and air-conditioned...) for once, but had to leave because the beaches were calling.......
