Time for intrepid travellers to move on. We decide to head for the east coast, which boasts some amazing snorkelling and diving opportunities. We barter the local drivers and make the two hour journey towards Candidasa for a mere £12. We leave the choice of accomodation to Chris (was this a little foolhardy!). As Chem are travelling on a budget we were a little apprehensive as Chris perused the 'Lonely Planet Guide' and selected the Temple Cafe and Seaside Cottages. What an absolute delight. Chem chose basic (cold water and fan) Bean chose luxury, (ocean view, open air garden bathroom, hot water and a/c). We soaked up the sun and delightful atmosphere for four days, as we enjoyed amazing sunsets and evenings spent amongst local entertainers in various bars and restaraunts. The highlight of this visit however must be Bean's first taste of snorkelling. Taken by local fishermen, we head towards the beautiful coral near the Blue Lagoon and experience the amazing sight of exotic marine life and the colourful coral reef in the clear torquoise sea. Thanks Chem for encouraging us to snorkel (did we ever have a choice?). It was well worth the nervous anticipation. What a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
