The bus turned out to probably the worst bus in the world, the guy at the bus station totally ripped us off, we got the 5 seats at the back (there were no other ones) which didn't recline, were stuck in a forward position, were right above the engine so it was roasting, coupled with the fact the people in the seats in front of us put there seats back which meant there were about 2 inches from your face. We were less than impressed and were close to getting off the bus and staying another night to catch a different bus.
At one point Ray was lying on the floor but he didn't last long as the engine made the floor to hot. Spend 15hrs in the crappy bus until we arrived in Trujillo, we weren't planning on staying to long there as we wanted to get to Cuzco a little earlier as Ray and Louise were heading home after the Inca Trail and wouldn't get much time in Cuzco if we didn't hurry up.We headed straight for some breakfast were I was charged extra for asking for some jam, minks!! We wanted to change our flights from Lima to Cuzco to an earlier date so we spent about an hour on the phone to Lan Peru getting that sorted, at least it turned out that they could change them for free. We changed them to 3 days before we were originally due to fly so that gave us a good 4 days in Cuzco to see the place.
We'd also heard Cuzco was 100times better than Lima so we didn't want to spend to long there either. Had a wee siesta and then headed out to dinner to the same place we went for breakfast, food was generally ok but Louise's looked like someone had puked on it.Went to the supermarket and bought some booze and sweets and went back to the room for some light ales.Ray and myself headed over to bus station and in our worst Spanish managed to book the bus to Lima. Luckily our expert Spanish made sure we got a decent bus time and mucho sleeping was to be had.
