Hello,Haven't been able to get to a computer in a while, well one with a decent internet connection anyway. We left the hostel and on the way to the bus station we met a Canadian girl Helen who was going the same way but was catching a different bus, we agreed to meet up in Tupiza and do the salt flats together as it was cheaper the more folk to got together. After catching the night bus from Salta to La Quiaca on the Argentina/Bolivia border, we crossed the border with no problems, an Irish person had told us that Irish people might have problems getting into Bolivia but luckily enough they decided to let brid in.We met a heap of other people who were all going to the bus station and waiting with them, Bolivia already looks a lot poorer than Argentina and there were people eating out of bins in the bus station, gads!!Caught a 3 hr bus to Tupiza for only 15bolivianos(80p) and started on (what we thought) the bumpiest road in the world. It was ridiculous, I don't know how the bus never shook its self to pieces, any thoughts of catching a safety nap were quickly out the window and we were concentrating more on holding down our food than anything else. The rid on the bus turned out to be pretty interesting, we were driving alone cliffs and me and brid were pretty sure the bus was gonna fall off the edge at one point. We finally arrived in Tupiza, it's a pretty small place and we are only going here as a fair few people have told us to start the salt flats tour from here as it's different and better than the Uyuni one.We had tried to E-mail the hostel ahead of us arriving but no one replied, we walked up to what we thought was the hotel door and some woman told us to follow her down the road, having no clue as to where this woman was talking us we just followed her, luckily enough she took us to the front door of the hostel and we booked in.
The hostels are pretty cheap here and we paid about 3pounds each for a private room with a bathroom as we stank after the bus journeys. We could already feel in difference in the altitude as Tupiza is about 3500m(11200ft), it left you pretty short of breath. We met up with the girl Helen and another German girl Katrin and booked our salt flats tour from the hostel. Went out for some food later on and bought some stuff for going away, decided not to stay in Tupiza long as it was a bit weird.
