Day 2:
Yesterday, I did another walking tour. This one went up the hill to Prague castle. The previous day I had done a city tour and a beer tour with the same guide, so we became buddies by the end of this third tour.
The castle and the surrounding buildings are very beautiful. There are a lot of beautiful aristocratic palaces, and also tiny little colourful houses. It also helped that the weather was beautiful, making the panoramic view of the city that much more spectacular.
Part of the castle complex is St Vitus' Cathedral. It is a beautiful, gothic cathedral - very similar to Notre Dame in Paris. While I was admiring the beautiful stained glass windows - I noticed a familiar face. My friend Christine, who goes to Guelph, also happened to be in Prague, and at this church! She was part of a tour group. The tour manager invited me to tag along on some of their activities.
That night, I joined them on a pub crawl. It was a very fun night!!
Day 3:
Today, I joined Christine's tour group again for a traditional Czech lunch. We had soup, goulash and dumplings. There were also some traditional performers playing music. It was a really nice time!
Afterwards, Christine and I went bathing suit shopping to prepare for our Cruise in Croatia. And we finished the day with a quick dinner.
All in all my trip to Prague was fantastic! I enjoyed my solo time, but running into a familiar face halfway across the world was a great delight as well! Tomorrow I join my own tour group! I'm excited to meet everyone!
