On Friday, I woke up early and met up with my tour group for breakfast at the hostel restaurant.
This tour is 9 days through some Eastern European countries - Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Croatia - with a company called Busabout. This tour is pretty different from the contiki tour that I did back in March. It's a very small tour group (only 19 people on a 50 seat bus). Also, Busabout must be geared towards a slightly older age group; Contiki was mostly early 20's, while this group is mostly mid-to-late 20's (I'm actually the youngest in the group).
We left Prague early in the morning and headed to Kutna Hora, the bone church. It was actually a little disappointing because I had heard that the church was entirely made of bones, but it was just a normal church with some fixtures made of bones. It was still creepy though.
Afterwards, we headed to Olonouk, a little Czech town. There happened to be a big festival going on, so in true Czech fashion we sat in a beer tent and drank all afternoon.
That evening, we had a traditional Czech dinner - I had beef sirloin and dumplings.
Great first day!
