My flight to LA went so quickly. I was amazed that I slept most of the way. Although I spose the sleeping tablet ensured I did haha. On arrival once I finally got through customs etc I made my way to the shuttle bus and to my hotel. 3 hours later I go there!!! The hotel and room were lovely after staying in 20 bed dorms haha. I dumped my stuff and headed straight out. It was near Hollywood Boulevard which I was well excited about. I walked along the 2 mile walk of fame searching for stars names and notived loads of people lining the streets next to one of the theatres. I found out there was a worls premier of the Jonas Brothers Movie, I only heard of them whilst in Australia but didnt have a clue who they were!!! Anyway thought it would be exciting to stand and watch. I stood there over two hours surrounded by screaming teenagers!!! After spending time watching the celebs as they all arrived and only knowing one person I decided to call it a day and headed back to the hotel, freezing cold, looking like a typical Brit in my shorts!!!!! On the way I was approached by loads of out of work actors who dress up as famous people to make some money getting pics taken with people. Batman, Elvis, Marlyn Munroe, the list goes on and on. It was an eventful few hours.
I was so excited to get back to the hotel and have a bath with clean water (most of the places we staed in Fiji the water was brown). I had an early night as was still a bit jet lagged and was up early for my Gran Tour the next day.
I was picked up from my hotel and jumped aboard the bus for my day tour of LA and stars homes lol, I know how cheesy!!!! There was a nice group of people and I got chatting to a fellow Scot from Perth. We drove along the walk of fame where there are 3200 stars. We past loads of famous spots where movies had been filmed. Went to the Hollywood Bowl where anyone who is anyone in music has performed, the Chinese Theatre where the celebs hand prints are outside, the Kodak Theatre where the Oscars is held, the Hollywood sign. We headed past Beverly Hills onto Rodeo Drive which was fab. Every designer shop you could imagine was there. How great it would have been to have had loads of money to shop!! We met the Ambassador of Beverly Hills who greets people at Rodeo Drive, he was fab. Seemingly a well known face worldwide!! He was so funny, kept stopping cars, buses and people in the street and telling them I was a celeb in Scotland and they were totally believing it... until one fothe buses had a couple from Edinburgh in it haha, they were like we dont recognise her lol!!!! We seen the Hotel Beverly Wiltshire where Pretty Woman was filmed, I really wanted to have a drink inside but was definately very under dressed!!! Our lunch stop was the Farmers Market then onto La Brea tar pits before driving through the fashion district, which to me souded totally glam!! However was very disappointed as it was basically rows and rows of random shops selling all sorts!!! We drove along Melrose Avenue where Melrose Place was filmed and Paramount Studios where loads of films have been created and filmed.
I was in my element when the guide showed us the underground shopping complex which went 5 stories underground!!!!!! From that tour we boarded another bus to do the stars homes!!! We seen so many different places. Where Elvis lived, Paul Newman, Christina Angulera etc etc. We passed Sean Connery's where Michale Jackson is staying at the moment to record a new album!! The press were all over the place trying to get pics!! We also seen the houses where Halloween and Freddy were filmed, was mad to see.
I would have loved to have had a bit more time in LA but roll on San Diego.
