The bus to Vegas was meant to take 7 hours so I had breakfast and got myself a wee munch for the coach then Ryan picked me up and we headed to the bus station. At the station, as always I had attracted the freaks!! This random woman who was also unfortunately going to Las Vegas has tagged onto me she was coming out with random things to everyone!! I get them eh??? The bus took us about 3 and aa half hours to get to San Bernardino where we had a 30 minute wait until the bus left for Vegas. However an hour and a half later we left as there was seemingly problems with the coach leaving LA. The coach was heaving and some people didnt even get on, so I was lucky!!! Was such a crampped journey, I just wanted to get there!! However me having the luck I do there had been a 15 car pile up which caused us to be in traffic for hours lol!@!!!!! I finally got to Vegas at 10pm.
It was amazing when we arrived al lthe lights just hit you, it looked mind blowing!! A guy I met on the coach was also going to the strip so we shared a cab. I was mega excited when we pulled up outside the hotel and it looked fab and was also excited about seeing Katherine. As you entered the hotel it looked like you had just walked into a shopping mall, it was huge and was filled with allsorts!! I was met by rows and rows of slot machines and eager gamblers it was fantastic!!!!
Once I had checked in I went upstairs and we had a well deserved catch up and then went for a wee gamble and drink downstairs, playing the 1cent machines ofcourse!! Its fab though as as long as your gambling regardless how little you can get the wairesses to get you drinks and you just give them a tip!!!
We decided we wouldnt go mad that night so we could have a full on Saturday. So we headed to bed then got up for a long day of being tacky tourists!!!!
It was amazing how much you could fit into one day....we grabbed a starbucks and then headed to get the Monorail which lasted 24 hours so we could use it all day and night. We got off right at the end of the strip and started exploring the many hotels. We went to the Luxor which was themed like Egypt, Equador which was shaped like a castle and looked fab. We went to New York, New York where we queued to go on the roller coaster which was connected to the outside of the hotel. We then headed to the Venetian where they have Gondalas indoors and out. Its amazing they have a totally made up area inside which looks like your outside in Venice theres even a pretend sky which changes when it starts to get dark!!!!! We also went to the MGM where they have a lion inclosure and in and out of loads more fabby hotels which were all so different.
We booked tickets to a show for the evening and whilst I was waiting on Katherine who was heading to pick then up (I had had a bit of a Kerry moment with my shoes earlier on in the day and one of them had burst!!! so I had been struggling on and Katherine being her great self said shed get the tickets, bless her shes a wee star!!!) people approached me with TV cameras. It was GMTV!!! They had seeminlg ybeen interviewing Barry Manalo whose got a new album coming out and were reporting from Vegas. As they filmed me and Katherine walked back and forth trying to get in the view of the camera. Its to be aired the week of the 16th so keep a look out haha.
The day totally flew in, one minute it was early then it was well past tea time!! We decided to head back to the hotel and get changed before dinner and our show. We headed to the MGM and went to a nice restaurant there and enjoyed a well earned vino. Our show started at 10.30. Overall was a fab night and we both had a ball. After the show we headed to Studio 54 where I enjoyed a Cosmo cocktail and we had a wee dance. We had planned on going to the observation deck at the top of our hotel, where theres also 3 rides which hang off the building!!!! But when we got there at 2am it was closed!!! You could literally be awake all night without even realising.
Katherine was leaving early afternoon and I had booked a trip to the Grand Canyon so she killed time until her flight by shopping at the Fashion Show Mall. I got picked up by Limo to take me to the Helipad. The tour was breath taking. We were in the helicopter was 45 minutes before we landed on the Canyon and enjoyed a champagne lunch and then headed back. The views were amazing and its something everyone must see. When I got back from the tour I headed to check out Circus Circus which was another themed hotel, in there they have an indoor theme park and circus shows. A trip up the observation deck later then into the old town where they have a light show. This is where the old vegas strip was. So should be a good night. Leaving at 10am tomorrow for my flight to San Francisco. Will defo miss Vegas its amazing!!! Get yourselves here!!!
I too the escalator to the observation deck of the hotel once it got dark and was mesmorised by the views, it was amazing. I then caught the bus to Fremont. It was fab. Yo can totally see that it was the old strip. There was lights everywhere and like the strip it was big and in your face. I walked around the shops and stalls and enjoyed the famous show which happens every hourf for 5 minutes. It appears on the roof and was magical.
The following day I had an early start. Headed in a taxi to the airport to find out when I got there that they didnt accept cards in that taxi and as I still didnt have my bank card sorted out I didnt have anyway of paying!! The taxi driver got the police and lets just say if it wasnt for there being a bank in the airport that would allow you to withdraw money on your credit card I would have been enjoying the views from a Vegas jail!!! Defo an experience eh???lol. I thought that my bad luck was over but when I got to the check in desk they advised me my bag was overweight!!! I literally had to take half my belongings on the plane with me!!! Then I beeped as I went through security, I was literally naked so didnt see how so was being my usual paranoid self thinking someone had some how managed to stash some drugs on me lol!!!!!! It turned out to be the wire in my bra!! How sensitive are the systems in America eh??? From there my flight was 2 hours delayed and then I got a mouthful of abuse from an American woman who advised me when I sat on an empty seat at the airport that it was her husbands seat!! When I pointed out that she was taking up a chair with their bags and the fact that there was a further 2 seats next to her spare she decided to verbally abuse me before realising I wasnt moving so she moved!!!!! Oh how I love the Americans!!!!!!! Then when I arrived in San Fran it was pouring down and lets just say I wasnt dressed appropriately haha. Fingers crossed my time in San Fran was going to be less unlucky!!!!
