we got to ko phagnan on 28th january. We stayed in Sunrise Resort which was really nice hotel right on the beach at haadrin where the full moon party is held. Quite a busy hotel, obviously full of other people who are travelling or just on holiday for new year. The main strip also quite busy, full of scooters though so nearly got run over about a hundred times and half the island seem to be walking around in bandages! First night there we had an early night after dinner as so tired from the journey. On the second night we went to watch a thai boxing show. was good and really interesting as was exactly what i expected it to be!(eg. commentator was little old english man who looks like mickey from Rocky!) The fighters all done 'traditional' dances before they fought, more funny to watch then anything! One of the fighters there was a man who had won his freedom from prison after 20 years by winning a fight! We spoke to one of the trainers who told us all about his fighter Master Poo, who won his fight easily and we later found out was an alcoholic who we see wandering around drunk a few days later. There was one fight between two 10 year old boys, didn't like watching it at all (apparently the boy who lost fights as he is anger because he gets bullied at school for being from Laos). After that we went to a party at Coral Bungalows near by, every other person here seems to be Australian. We then went back to our resort where there was another party on beach near hotel.

The Full moon party was what we expected it to be, really busy although we managed not to lose anyone. Fire dancers, fire rope and death slide...we were only brave enough for death slide! Spent most of new years day in bed and then left the following day for the next island, ko tao (turtle island).
