We got up early so we could have breakfast and check out of the milky bay resort (not a minute too soon either!) when we checked out we were just in reception on the iPad and in e space of about 10 minutes the staff had taken cherry's backpack with all of her toiletries and clothes in it. Not good. The staff had randomly taken her backpack which was with our big bags and my hand luggage bag! They are so stupid! So they had to go into a guests room to retrieve the stolen bag. Once again, the hotel were anything but helpful, so in revenge we have written them a shockingly bad review.. 1-0 to the girls.
We went to the pool to sunbathe, but cherry had been so badly sunburnt on one of her calves that she just had to sit in the shade all covered up, so she got about 4 hours sleep! Meanwhile I was set on getting a good tan, so covered myself in a factor 15 and let myself sizzle (no I didn't get burnt dad). At 2 pm we got in the hotel transfer car and got taken to thongsala peir where we had a nice lunch- fried rice with chicken. We waited in the restaurant for literally 2 hours! Chatting to Lottie on IMessage, getting filled in on everything we were missing and all of her experiences in London!
When it hit 4 pm it was time for us to check into the ferry. I went to get the tickets while cherry stayed with the bags. The lady at the ticket booth couldn't find our booking so I waited and waited. I have never known people to be so unorganized!! There seems to be no system here, you are given a piece of paper with PAID on it and there's a little number and that's it! So she was going through her numbers and couldn't find ours. I think it just got to the point where she gave up and gave us the ticket! Meanwhile I met some girls from Scotland! They were so lovely, we were just chatting about samui as it was their first time going. We made our way up the pier and started talking to them about our plans and what we have been up to. It turned out they had problems with STA as well so we had a good old session not being very nice about the travel company. It was so funny to hear them tell us- their first days in BKK were very similar to ours, lots of crying, getting parents to sort us out and generally being miserable!
As usual the ferry was late- we've got used to it now, they just operate when they fancy! We were about an hour later than we should have been but least we were on the ferry!! Once we got to Koh Samui again we got a transfer to our next hotel, and yes, there was yet more drama. We knew our hotel was out of natthon, but they took us to the one we knew it wasn't! So we got left at a hotel called 'Jinta Hotel' when we needed to get to 'Jinta Beach Bungalow'. The transfer man got our stuff out, told us this was the hotel and got back into the car leaving us very confused! Thankfully the staff at this hotel were so friendly. She called our place and we got picked up.
We got picked up in a pick up, with no seats. We looked around and couldn't see a taxi certificate. Neither of us spoke, both of us had different things going through our heads- cherry thought we were going to be taken to a brothel whereas I thought as we were getting taken further and further away from civilization we were going to be taken into the jungle and left. We sat in silence looking at the darkness all around us. Terrifying. When we FINALLY saw the sign for the place we were so relieved and we told each other that we both had looked for the taxi certificate and told each other what was going on in our heads. Wild imaginations!
We got greeted by the loveliest woman! Big beaming smile and a big heart. We got taken to our room and we weren't too impressed. Positively, there was aircon and a comfy bed. We found out there was no English TV which meant no detective programs! So sad- we have grown fond of them after 3 weeks!! So I just went to sleep knowing my fowl mood would just annoy cherry and I would end up winding myself up even more.
