Hey all :D
Long time no updates, I know... but there is so little to tell since leaving Rio as we have literally spent the past week lounging in the sunshine.. and inside, recovering from Day 1's nasty sunburn! Before you say it - YES we were wearing sunscreen... Myself, a mild SPF55 and Amiee SPF70!!! Amiee even re-applied approx 3 times whilst at the beach.... the sun is fierce!
So we have just relaxed really which believe me, after constantly being 'on-alert' in Rio has made for a very nice change :)
We are in what they call the 'St. Tropez' of Brazil... and its definitely a flash-your-cash area.. the homes are beautiful - not a favela in sight! Amazing restaurants with beachside views... and the not-so-bright side being that there are many over-tanned, semi-nude women traipsing about the town centre! I do not lie, a couple days ago, Amiee and I were sitting and enjoying a nice little ice cream when I see an amusing sight coming towards us and give Amiee a tap to take a look as she comes past and the back view made my eyes nearly bug out of my head! It was a lady of, I would estimate close to 50, wearing a bikini - the tiiiiiny g-string style and wearing a 'cover-up' (if you could call it that!) that made her appear not unlike a strung up christmas ham!!
Today we went out on a beautiful boat cruise around the islet that we are on and the sun was shiiiining bright :) it was definitely a nice way to spend a Sunday! As Amiee mentioned in her blog, it was all-you-can-drink... but unfortunately that was not quite accurately described.. it was more like drink-as-many-as-you-want-of-the-three-we-will-offer-you! haha...
We had a hostel BBQ a couple days ago and it was delicious - I am loving Brazilian food, thats for sure! However the mosquitoes made a meal of ME and after 5 minutes I had between 20 - 25 bites on my legs - and I was wearing full-length tights!!
We have only a few more nights here in Buzios before we head back to Rio for a night and a day and then fly out to ECUADOR on Christmas Day yayayaya... I am VERY excited :D Its hard to belive that we have been gone nearly a month already!
I wish everyone a Happy Christmas-Feliz Navidad-Feliz Natal and all the very best for the new year... much love to you all xoxo
