Usually when we travel we do not budget a lot for hotels as we are out an about from early in the morning until late at night.
But this time we tried something different. An upper market design boutique hotel called "IP Boutique" with an impressive lobby and cool rooms (check out the pictures).
The next couple of days we tried Seoul more like travellers and less like tourists. We found a "Kimchi" company that offers cooking class which we took part, then we visited a folk village, a cartoon & manga museum and spend the evening in the university area where you can find cool and cheap restaurants.
Kimchi is a marinated cabbage that has been softened in salty water for a day and then rubbed in a red sauce made of too-many-spices-to-remember.
Then we visited a village that was constructed to demonstrate the history, the architecture and the way of living in the Korean past. Traditional tea houses staged performances and displays. A very good idea that makes you think why we do not have anything like this in Greece.
The day ended walking around the university district. A fun place with a lot of young people, bars and restaurants. We had a nice spicy thing with a lot of spices on the top (cannot remember). I think too much chilli can cause memory loss...
