It is always nice to come back to a place you love.
You can view Hong Kong as a Chinese town with western habits or a western town where its Chinatown neighbourhood has taken over. Old but modern, cultural but futuristic, anyway you look at it; this vertical growing city is amazing.
We arrived too early to check in our hotel so we dropped our luggage and gone out for a walk to beat jetlag.
The day starts from the Star Ferry to cross over to the island (Hong Kong is split between mainland-china part called Kowloon and the Hong Kong island). From there we took the up-hill tram and went for a coffee at the "Peak" (the highest place in Hong Kong with great views).
Back in town we walked around the city (or I should say we transported ourselves around the city as there are elevators so you do not need to walk), and after a quick stop in the hotel (shower, 1 hour snooze, caffeine pills) we gone out in the Soho area for food (Cantonese style) and drinks.
Finally I found a beer that is worse than the one I make myself back home. It is called Hong Kong Brew House. The day finishes back in Kowloon with the great views of the lit skyscrapers and a drink at the up-market bar called Aqua on the 30th floor. A pitch-black place (light is coming out only from the tables) and great view of the city.
Now we are back in the hotel, and I am trying to write this blog but after 3 hours sleep in the last 48 hours I can barely zzzzzzzzz
