Hello Malaysia! We arrived in KL @ 5:30pm on Friday 29th October. Had a lovely 3 hour flight from Bali since the women next to us decided to move which gave us plenty of room to stretch out our legs! :o) We purchased our bus tickets into the centre of KL, chilled in Starbucks for a while, then boarded the 1 hour bus into the centre. It was then into a taxi and we arrived at our hotel/hostel, the Chill Inn, about 9pm. After our boozy last night in Bali, I was definitely ready for my bed!
Our last 3 days in Bali were great. It felt amazing to check into a proper hotel that had fresh water!! After 8 days on the Gili's it was bliss! Free mineral water, fridge in our room - the Balisani Padma felt like a five star! haha. Feeling properly clean for the first time in a while our first night consisted of having some mexican food in a nearby restaurant then having a mega early night.
Day 2 was surfing time! We paid 7 pound each for a two hour lesson, with board (obviously) and instructor. Well I say instructor, they were just really locals who owned a few boards and had stalls on the beach. There are loads of them! Dean jumped into the water looking confidient, I followed feeling scared! As most of you know I am definitely not a water baby. Water in my eyes and up my nose makes me panic - why would I try surfing then?! Dean picked it up instantly, I on the other hand crashed into the water, got hit on the head with my board and swallowed half the sea! I stuck it out for about 30/40 mins then headed back to where I'm happy, on a lounger topping up my tan! At least I tried! Dean was out in the water for the full 2 hours, surfing the waves like a pro! By the time he'd finished his chest/stomach were in agony with rubbing against the board. Drawbacks of being a beginner aparently! We headed back to our hotel, had a cocktail at the swim up bar and enjoyed another shower in our lovely fresh water bathroom!
Day 3 was spent doing boring things like organising accommodation etc for our next country, oh it's a hard life! It was good to be out of the sun tho as after our morning in the sea and on the beach the day before our skins were needing a break. Had a few drinks at night to say goodbye to Indonesia properly. I just wish I could remember some of it!! haha.
Lots of Love
