Hello there, this is gonna have to be quick because I don't have much time left on the internet!
Basically, it's been crazy and perfect since I last wrote. Having the best time. We came to Byron Bay on Thursday after another crazy day at the theme parks on Wednesday. Byron is so beautiful and I think my favourite place so far since being here.
We only had the afternoon here on Thursday but made the most of it and went on a beautiful walk up to the lighthouse - which is in the picture ^^^! It was very beautiful and it's also the most easterly point in Australia which is pretty cool to say you've done.
The hostel here is a bit of a party hostel so we went out on Thursday night to Cheeky Monkeys...the seediest club I've ever been in but it was such a laugh.
On Friday, we went to Nimbin, which I can only describe as Australia's Amsterdam, definitely an experience!! The weirdest place I've ever been in my life! Hippies everywhere and just plain weird.
I had an early night on Friday night - Marie still went out but I needed my sleep, because of Saturday morning...I DID A SKYDIVE.
It was by far the most amazing thing I've ever done in my life - ever. The feeling was incredible. we went up in this tiny plane, there was just me, my tandem dude and then another guy and his tandem dude. (and the pilot) And we went up and over Ballina and Byron Bay - the view was so completely stunning. You could see for miles because it was a beautiful clear day! We got seriously high up and I said "so...are we there yet?" and he goes "no, we've still got another 500ft to go"
- I have to go but I will update ASAP.
So yeah, when we got to 14,000 ft I was slightly scared. Dean, the Aussie guy who was also jumping was so scared and he was gong first. When he jumped I got really nervous! I was all clipped into my dude then (that sounds a bit weird but you know what I mean) and then we moved to the edge of the plane. You have to put your feet out on the wing and slowly edge out. Then I was literally hanging off the edge of the plane with my legs out and he just pushed off. The feeling was incredible. We flipped twice and then we were just falling. So so so so fast and it's so loud. But you can see for miles, I pretty much just screamed for the first twenty seconds and then I was loving it. I freefell for a minute at 220kmph for 10,000ft and then he pulled the chute. It was the most bizarre feeling because it then goes silent and you are just drifting. The view was stunning because it was such a clear day and he let me steer the parachute andwe did these awesome spinny things. My ears were popping loads but I didn't care, I just didn't want to land, it was such a good feeling.
When I got down we all had photos and drank champagnein the limo on the wayhome. Bad idea, it went straight to my head. It was weird I thought I'd be on a high for the rest of the day but I felt drained for a while so Marie and I went to the beach and sunbathed and slept and topped up the tan.
After the Iwas ready to go and we went out again and had another fun night!
For our last day in Byron we went to the markets which was really lovely. So much handmade stuff - got lots of presents for people. We stayed there pretty much all day but it wassooooo hot. About 34 degrees and I started to get a bit drained towards the end so we went back to the hostel and just chilled which was pretty sweet. Got an evening bus down to Yamba which was strange as we arrived at our hostel at 11pm, seemed like a cool place to be explored in the morning.
Sorry it's all a bit rushed, trying to catch up! <3
Love from Aussie land.
