Hello there,
We're not actually in Belligen now but I want to be able to print out my map of my journey when I get home so I'm making sure I'm blogging from each location.
So Bellingen. It was very different! We've been on the coast most of the time since being here so going inland was very different! It was very green and mountainous which was lovely but the weather still wasn't great and you couldn't see the mountains (most of the time) because of the fog.
The first night we got there we just kinda chilled with the people at the hostel, did a quick trip into the town (basically one street) and then went back to the hostel again. We we ended up playing Junior Scattegories with these people staying in the hostel and it was quite amusing.
The next morning we faffed quite a lot and then ended up hiring bikes and cycling to the 'Promised Lands' - sounds romantic ay. It was actually very pretty when we got there...but it was very hilly!!! We stopped at a little spot for lunch by the Never Never Creek. We'd packed a picnic which we ate there, enjoying the picturesque view.
Then we decided to have a bit of a chill, read our books and write out travel diaries which we did for a while before it started to rain :( We hid under some trees for a bit and the decided to cycle back. It was a painful cycle back! But eventually after about an hour an a half we got back! Had the best pasta ever - and literally flopped.
Today we spent the day relaxing (decided i have used the word chilling and chilled too much so I'm mixing things up a bit) I felt really ill when I woke up :( had a really sore throat and then I start to sneeze and got really sore eyes. Thought I was getting a cold but it turns out I was just having a really bad reaction to something, when I took some piriton and it kinda went away.
So read my book and chatted to some people. Marie and I took a quick look around the town but it was literally raining torrentially the whole morning so we only had an hour or so in the afternoon. Felt better in the afternoon though so it made it more enjoyable.
Got a lift to the bus stop in Urunga and then got the Greyhound down to Port Macquarie which is where we are now, will write about here tomorrow - we're going to the koala hospital tomorrow, it's free and you get a tour and to hold one...very excited!
Lots of love, sorry if this is rambled, I'm rushing and in a very stupid mood! xxx
