Today's choices were scooter hire, jet ski hire, snorkelling or koala sanctuary. Being a Markham child I went for jet skiing and potentially snorkelling. Expensive paired with cheap.
I got the bus to Horseshoe Bay, which coincidently a girl I met from the boat to Whitsundays got onto. I then had a wander and checked out the price of the jet ski. It was expensive but as the motto of my trip goes - you only live once, so I just had to do it. I haven't done it before and I've always wanted too. I went through all the controls and got geared up before setting off.
I was told to go slowly at 11km/h between the first two markers, before entering the hire area where I could open it up. I was quite nervous approaching the second marker but as it passed the jet I pulled the accelerator and my nerves disappeared as I shot towards the other corner marker at 65km/h bouncing along the waves. What a fantastic experience. 30mins if immense fun while thinking of Granddads experience on the back of Joel's jet ski experience. All the twists and turns were fantastic! Making waves for myself to go and bounce back over. Epic fun!
I then read more of my book in the shade listening to the waves before treating myself once again to a fish and chips by the sea! Before heading back I bumped into my German friend once again had a chat and got back on the bus.
I planned to snorkel but I was so knackered from the adrenaline rush and the heat so decided to chill some more with my book and enjoy my bed before attempting to cook hopefully my last rice dish before I move on to pasta!
