Charly's Travel Journal
Today we got up stupidly early to catch a bus 120km to a seaside town called Valparaiso. The town has a harbour which is pretty industrial but the real attraction of the place are the surrounding hills. They are covered in brightly painted old houses, with lots of little back streets and wall art everywhere-a real bohemian feel to it. They also have a funicular railway up and down some of the steeper hills which you can ride up or down on (also featuring in the motorcycle diaries...) which were fun,but I was a little scared as they felt like they might fall apart at any minute... We had a lovely day exploring the back-streets,following a trail of wallart and visiting local galleries and arty shops along the way.
When we returned we went for a delicious meal in a themed seafood restuarant around the corner which was yummy.
Tomorrow we plan to look around some of the cities museums and palaces before flying to Lima in the evening.
Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
