Week 14- Indonesia (Gilli T) Day 1

Woke up and had breakfast delivered to our balcony :) happy days. We then sorted out some laundry before hitting the beach for the day. Making the most out of our last few sun worshipping days :(. We had lunch by the beach, before we hired some snorkels. We had overheard someone saying that they had seen a turtle out there. We hired snorkels and fins for the afternoon. The sea is a little difficult to get into here as about a metre out it turns into quite sharp coral. So you literally have to walk in then dive in pretty much. Anyway once we were in we saw quite a few fish but most of the coral looked dead. The current was really strong and it was dragging us down the beach so it wasn't a very enjoyable experience. We also saw a local spear fishing which was interesting. After being dragged down the beach we decided to make a swift exit. We dried off oh the beach before heading back.

Tonight we had dinner at one of the restaurants on the beach. They had a BBQ going so you could have all sorts of different meat and fish skewers. They also had a little buffet going too. All this for about £3! Me and Charlotte both decided to have prawn and tuna skewers. We had soup to start (not to sure what was in the soup but it was yummy! With fresh BROWN baguette tasted so good. Our prawn and tuna skewers were super yummy too! I also tried the local beer (Bintang) they all taste the same really. Charlotte has been researching where to get banoffee pie at each place we have been too and she found a place called Horizontal that did it so we went there for dessert! It was called Banana-Toffee pie (Asia version) but she was super excited and it was very yummy! Nearly cost as much as our dinner mind! We had a little debate about the bill in the end as they wanted a extra 50p or so for tax and service charge but char said that it wasn't on the menu that this is added so she refused to pay it and when the man went off to ask someone we walked off LOL! Won't be able to go back there again! Haha!
