Week 2- Goa- Day 7
Today was our last day on the beach... Boo! Although I think we are both ready to move on to our next adventure. We had another nice chilled day at the beach and thankfully we didn't have many people trying to take photos today! We saw the ladies we met on the first day again which was nice and we were laughing about our stories from the week! Last night a man on a motorbike was staring at myself and Gemma so much that once he actually turned round to look at the road he was about half a metre from crashing into a huge cow, it was pretty entertaining! We also tried a Lassi at lunchtime, this is a Indian milkshake type drink! It was really yummy, we wished we had tried them earlier!
It is the elections in Goa so all premises had to stop serving alcohol at 4pm and cannot start selling it again for 3 days. This means a lot of bars/ restaurants were completely closed! We basically had to eat wherever was open. Luckily we found a place called Jaws for dinner and it was actually one of the best meals we have had. We shared prawn dim sum, veg pad Thai and roast pork in oyster and garlic sauce! We were being really brave trying prawns as we had heard some horror stories!!
The bakery had made us a special batch of chocolate brownies because we had been requesting them for 3 days! They were the best brownies we have ever eaten (other than Gem's brownies of course!), they were still warm when we went back to collect them! Gemma also had a slice of tiramisu and she says it was incredible and she was a very happy bunny! We will miss the bakery very much!
We decided to be organised a packed the majority of our rucksacks before we went to bed so we didn't have to worry about it in the morning. We spent some more time looking at hostels for Asia and finally went to bed at about midnight. We were exhausted... All this sunbathing and eating is hard work you know ;-)
