Today we went into the jungle! After breakfast at our tour company Max Adventures we met our guide Jamie. It was just me and rob so we had a private tour! We got into our boat on the river and spent about three hours ploughing upstream to our lodge in the jungle. When we arrived the last people were leaving on our boat, so we had the place to ourselves, with Jamie, a cook and a guy who cleaned up to look after us! Today we got up early and headed over to the airport to fly to La Paz. After our horrific ride over to Sucre we'd read up on driving in Bolivia - they have a terrible record for road safety, and the road from Sucre to La Paz is supposed to be treacherous - lots of windy roads and high cliff edges. We spent the first part of the day going over to Cal Orc'a - the site of the largest set of dinosaur footprints in the world. They are strangely in a wall - earthquakes in the Andes have bent what was originally flat land next to a lake up into a v shape, so the prints are now on a massive wall! Today we spent the morning planning then headed off at lunch to Sucre in a collectivo - a shared taxi. The journey apparently takes 3-4 hours on a bus, and our insane taxi driver did it in just under two hours.
